Frequently Asked Questions
Our online sessions are conducted through a visual communication platform such as Zoom or Google Meet. This ensures that all participants have access to documents and resources shared during the session.
Considering the athlete's age, we request that all sessions occur in an open environment. For individual sessions, we require a parent's attendance until the age of 14, and for group sessions until the age of 12. As familiarity between all parties grows, this arrangement may transition to solely the coach and player. However, ensuring the safety and well-being of the child remains our utmost priority at all times.
During individual online sessions, we will focus on executing the player's development plan and aligning our efforts with the athlete's goals. As we assess progress through play and practice, we will engage in reflective review to determine the most effective strategies moving forward. Additionally, we address specific athlete needs, providing guidance in areas such as on-course strategy, mental resilience, scheduling, tournament preparation, and fitness training.
At SSUGA, goals are established through collaborative discussions and analysis of the athlete's playing records or any information they may have already documented. Recognising that athletes possess valuable insights into their own game, their input is integral to charting the path forward. We also consider the input of parents and home coaches as valuable contributors to the information-gathering process for development.
At SSUGA, every member of our coaching team working with an individual player has access to the athlete's portal. This platform enables comprehensive tracking of practice and development activities, facilitating feedback on progress and performance. Additionally, we encourage the involvement of the athlete's home technical coach within the athlete's portal, promoting a collaborative, athlete-centred approach. This decision is made at the discretion of the athlete and parents.
At SSUGA, we utilise the Skillest app for secure online training. This platform enables real-time feedback, knowledge sharing, and motivation for athletes, regardless of location. With Skillest, we can capture, edit, and share media to enhance training. Athletes have control over who accesses their space, and they can seamlessly transition with all resources intact.
At SSUGA, we recognise that goals are dynamic and ever-evolving. Even the world's best athletes continually strive for improvement. Therefore, while we celebrate reaching milestones, we also emphasise the importance of reflection and review. We continuously assess achievements and explore avenues for further development to ensure ongoing progress and success.
At SSUGA, your child's safety is paramount. Our coaches all have recent enhanced DBS checks and undergo yearly safeguarding training. We prioritize staying up-to-date to ensure your child's safety.
Statistics are compiled by the athlete, and tailored to their specific preferences and requirements. Initially, simple methods like pen and paper may suffice. As the need for more detailed information arises, we recommend utilising specific apps or programs to generate customised statistical reports tailored to the athlete's needs.
Athletes collect their practice statistics independently, with assistance from our provided resources. Once posted on their platform, we analyse the stats to facilitate athlete development through reflection and ensure appropriate challenges in practice sessions.
Practice is personalised to each individual, but it's common for athletes to focus on areas they excel in rather than areas needing improvement. Through goal-setting discussions and identifying areas for development, we pinpoint specific aspects of the game that require attention. Challenges aligned with these areas are then set to track progress over time.
Our approach is highly individualised. Initially, fundamental skills such as pushing, pulling, hinging, and squatting are emphasised, which can be developed using minimal equipment like bands and body weight. As you progress, our strength coaches will provide guidance on incorporating additional equipment and transitioning to a gym environment for further advancement.
We kindly request that clients provide our coaches with a minimum of 24 hours' notice to reschedule appointments. While we acknowledge that unforeseen circumstances may arise, we will make every effort to accommodate such changes. Please note that missed meetings will not be carried over into subsequent months. However, all group sessions will be recorded and shared for future reference.

While admission into the US college system and receiving scholarships are not guaranteed outcomes, excelling on a national level significantly enhances your chances. Colleges and universities value self-motivated and organised athletes, qualities fostered through our programs at SSUGA. Additionally, our partnership with Sport Scholarship USA, guided by their mission to empower dreams and build futures, provides invaluable assistance in navigating the college recruitment process. Together, we work to create opportunities and shape promising athletic careers, transforming dreams into reality.
Becoming a professional golfer involves more than just signing a contract. While it marks a significant milestone, it also comes with increased costs such as entry fees and travel expenses, and heightened competition. At SSUGA, we guide junior golfers through a structured pathway, starting with success at local club or high school tournaments, progressing to county/state events, and eventually competing in regional and national tournaments sanctioned by governing bodies like England Golf or AJGA.
We utilise a secure GoCardless payment system to process payments. Payments are collected in advance on a monthly basis upon completion of a signed contract for our services, with a minimum commitment period of 6 months.
Provisualizer is an advanced planning and visualisation tool designed for competitive golfers. It aids in round preparation and allows for the creation of custom yardage charts for pre-mapped golf courses worldwide. Provisualizer is included in all of our programs, along with comprehensive training and support.
